Six Reasons to Love Kroger’s New ClickList

July 29, 2016

Confession: I like to grocery shop. I find it therapeutic - it's the time when I leisurely browse my grocery stores with my headphones and plan meals on the fly. I prefer to shop alone, and I consider my shopping trips my quiet time.

Because I am a leisurely shopper, I sometimes go over budget. Well, if I'm being completely honest, I don't really keep a budget. And with that, I may or may not tend to overspend.

This is where Kroger Click List comes in. Have you heard of it? It's a new service that allows shoppers to make their grocery selections online, to be picked up the next day at a designated time. Sound easy? It was.

Ease of use is not the only benefit. Let's discuss my other reasons for using Kroger's new ClickList service:

1. Variety. Almost 100% of the items that I regularly purchase were available through the service. The only thing missing was freshly cut mangoes - but I can cut my own.

2. Freshness. One of my concerns with grocery services has always been the produce. Just call me Picky Patty - I am a stickler for my produce. No bruises, nice shape, smooth exterior, yellow bananas - all requirements of mine when it comes to produce. I am pleased to report that Kroger Click List passed my stringent produce standards. After all - who wants ugly cherries?

3. Intangibles. Everything was bagged neatly. The orange juice had no stickiness on the sides. Boxes were square, not bent. I told you before - I'm picky when it comes to groceries. And ClickList passed all my grocery quirks.

4. Convenience. As stated previously, I simply made my choices, selected a time for pickup, and, upon arrival at the ClickList area, made a call to the staff to let them know that I was there. They brought my groceries and loaded them - all while I sat in my air conditioned car (we all know that it’s hot!).

5. Coupons and other Kroger shopping benefits. ClickList shoppers are allowed to use paper coupons upon arrival. Or, Kroger app and website users can pre-load coupons to the registered shopping card, and the ClickList will automatically redeem applicable coupons. And your ClickList purchase still applies toward Kroger's Fuel Points!

This all brings me to my final benefit.

6. Budget. As I stated earlier, I am a casual shopper. A browser. ClickList helps me stay within a budgeted amount. I already know what's in my cart, so I'm not surprised at checkout by accidental overspending.

So, to sum it all up, I get the convenience of shopping at home, the ease of simply picking up my already selected groceries, the same amount of variety found in the store, the benefit of staying within a budget, and all with the same perks of being a Kroger's shopping card holder. I am already a regular Kroger shopper (check my Fuel Points), so this just heightens my appreciation for the chain that I already frequent. ClickList for the win!

Currently, ClickList is only available for our Richmond/Rosenberg and Eldridge/Briar Forest area readers. I just wanted you to be one of the first to learn about the service, and to let you know that it will be offered in other stores soon! Click here to check availability near you.
