First, let me welcome our new friends that we met last weekend at the Waste Management Earth Day Festival and at Discovery Green's Toddler Tuesday Event. We had a great time meeting you!
Second, it's Earth Month. So, I decided to devote one edition of the newsletter this month to being outside. There are many Earth Day, Earth Week, and Earth Month celebrations across the Houston area. We hope that you will take a look at our calendar to find them all. They will occur throughout the month, so check next weekend's events to plan ahead.
Also, the Friends of the Houston Public Library's Annual Bargain Book Sale and the Fort Bend Parents of Multiples Annual Garage Sale are each events that promote re-use. See those on the calendar as well.
I've included tips on visiting one of my favorite Houston attractions, the Houston Zoo. And, I've also included information on Texas Outdoor Family. This is a unique program that teaches families to camp for a very low price. Have any of you tried it?
There are also tips about bike helmet safety, as well as a fun recipe for making your own bubble solution.
I have a few parks listed that I've reviewed, but I will be the first to admit that the list is a bit lean. Enjoy the tips for the parks listed, and know that I am working on a more comprehensive list.
Lastly, it's the final weekend for the Company OnStage's production of Rapunzel and the Frog Prince. Be sure to get your tickets.
