Earth Day Bash at the Children's Museum of Houston, April 18

Join the Children's Museum of Houston as they host an Earth Day Bash on Saturday, April 18, 2015.

Reduce! Reuse! Recycle! For 44 years, Earth Day has inspired awareness and appreciation for our environment. We're celebrating Mother Earth with an Earth Day Bash full of eco-friendly activities, special guests, take-home tree seedlings and more! Explore nature’s creations, discover ways to make a difference, and practice protecting the planet we call home.
 
SPECIAL EVENTS:

Texas Wildlife Association: Participate in a wild presentation of skulls and skins.      

Environmental Protection Agency: What does the environment look like for YOU in the future? Learn how to protect our planet during this interactive demo.

New Roots Landscaping: Discover how to create a beautiful garden out of native plants and resources.

Trees for Houston: Take home free tree seedlings to plant in your backyard and receive tree cartons to decorate (tree seedlings will be distributed upon exiting the Museum; while supplies last).

Edible Resources: Learn how growing edible gardens can help your family produce nutritious, organic food.
 
ONGOING ACTIVITIES:

Tree Game: Travel through the tree life cycle while playing a fun board game at EcoStation.

From Seed to Plant: Match plants, leaves and trees to their seed at EcoStation.

Rock Cycle: Simulate the formation of different rock types and learn about different types of rocks (igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary) at Science Station.

Earth Day Fans: Create a wonderful work of art out of recycled materials at Junktion.

Speak for the Trees:  Create a unique work of art at Junktion.

LED Bling: Craft jewelry that sparkles, shines and saves energy at Inventors’ Workshop.

Recycled Newspaper Flowers: Transform newspapers into beautiful flowers at Junktion.

Movie – The Lorax: Find out how the Lorax “speaks for the trees” in Brown Auditorium.
