The Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center Grand Opening

Baird sponsors FREE admission for Discovery Center grand opening

The Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center—A Very Special Project of the Children’s Museum of Houston will host its grand opening at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016.  

Baird, a global financial services firm with offices in Houston, will serve as grand opening sponsor and offer free admission to the public for the day.  And the first 500-children to arrive will receive commemorative t-shirts!

Special events and performances complete with confetti cannons are scheduled for the grand opening including a drumline, Cookie Joe’s fusion of classical, jazz and hip-hop dance moves, and the Ismaili Dance Ensemble’s traditional Indian dances.  Mascots in attendance will include Sugar Land Skeeters’s Swatson, Ronald McDonald, PBS Kids’ Digit from Cyberchase and H-E-B’s H-E-Buddy.

Housed on the first floor of a 12,500 square foot re-purposed historical building at Imperial Market, the mission of the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center – A Very Special Project of the Children’s Museum of Houston is to transform communities through innovative child-centered learning.  Six galleries will be managed as platforms for learning for children from birth to 12-years. 

ABOUT FORT BEND CHILDREN’S DISCOVERY CENTER
The Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center is located at 198 Kempner St., Sugar Land, TX 77498.  Hours for the Discovery Center will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.  General admission for adults and children (Ages 1+) will be $12.  For more information, please visit www.childrensdiscoveryfb.org.
