Houston ISD families-
School just started, but it's already time to begin thinking about next year's school choice options for the 2017-2018 school year! This is especially true is you have a student entering kindergarten, middle school, and high school, or if you're looking to transfer your student's school placement.
Before you begin applying, the Houston ISD Office of School Choice has arranged some Open House opportunities throughout the city. These Open House events allow parents to learn more about all the magnet school options in the city. These are also listed on our

SCHOOL CHOICE OPEN HOUSE DATES
OPEN HOUSE FAIR 1
September 17: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Westbury High School
OPEN HOUSE FAIR 2
Oct. 1: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Chavez High School
OPEN HOUSE FAIR 3
Oct. 22: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Heights High School
OPEN HOUSE FAIR 4
Nov. 5: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Austin High School
OOPEN HOUSE FAIR 5
Dec. 3: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Sterling High School
Additionally, families of prospective students are invited to attend School Choice Thursdays. On the following Thursdays, families are welcome to tour any HISD school. Elementary and K–8 schools will host tours at 9 a.m., Secondary schools at 1 p.m.
