Houston Hot Sauce Festival, September 15-16, Stafford. Includes a kids fun zone.
Ballunar Liftoff Festival, September 28-30, NASA.
Fun-Omenal Family Fun Festival, September 29, Discovery Green. Family festival that includes rides, music, crafts, foam, and more. Be sure to visit the Macaroni Kid Craft Station, too! Free.
October
Texas Renaissance Festival, weekends October 6 - November 25, Plantersville (north of Houston). Great for all ages. Discount tickets available.
Silk Road Festival, October 4-7, Stafford. Includes food, crafts, and music.
Original Greek Festival, October 4-7, Museum District area. Free for children under 12.
Houston Italian Festival, October 11-14, University of St. Thomas. Free for children under 12.
Bayou City Art Festival, October 11-14, Downtown. Features a creative zone for kids. Free for children under 12.
Turkishfest, October 13-14, Downtown Houston. Free for children under 8.
Energy Day, October 20, Downtown Houston. Free.
November
Korean Festival, November 3, Downtown Houston. Free.
Nutcracker Market, November 8-11, Reliant Center. (Personal note: although children are allowed, you may enjoy your experience more if you are able to find a sitter.)
Sugar Plum Market, November 2-3, Stafford.
