Houston: Camps at Houston Baptist University

Houston Baptist University is offering a Summer Reading Development Program and various athletic camps (see info on athletic camps following the reading program information)

In partnership with the Institute of Reading Development,  Houston Baptist University is offering reading skills programs for children and adults on the HBU campus this summer.

The programs, designed and taught by professional instructors from the Institute of Reading Development, help participants develop and improve skills in phonics,
comprehension, vocabulary, and speed reading.

Each of the eight reading skills programs is targeted to the needs of students of a specific age and/or grade-level:
4-Year-Olds and Entering Kindergarteners
Entering 1st Graders
Entering 2nd Graders
Entering 3rd Graders
Entering 4th or 5th Graders
Entering 6th, 7th, or 8th Graders
Entering 9th, 10th, or 11th Graders
Entering 12th Graders, College Students, or Adults

Each program meets once a week over a five-week period, with the first of two summer sessions beginning on the HBU campus on Friday, June 13. A second five-week summer session on the HBU campus begins Monday, July 21.
