Texian Market Days at George Ranch, October 25

Light the fire and sound the cannons! The 31st annual Texian Market Days festival is set for Saturday, October 25, 2014 at George Ranch Historical Park in Richmond Texas. The whole family can discover more than 150 years of Texas history. Visitors can enjoy hands-on activities, battle re-enactments, live entertainment, first-person costumed interpreters, historic home tours, games, cowboys, vintage vehicles, food, craft vendors and more!

Must-see demonstrations include a display of Historic weaponry such as Brown Bess Muskets, Kentucky Rifles and assorted period knives; Cannon demonstrations and cavalry drills; gunsmith; frontier survival and cornbread making; Cattle roping demonstrations; Vintage vehicles display including a 1923 Model T Touring Car, a 1937 Ford Coupe, and more; Pioneer food demonstrations and more.

Held annually on the fourth weekend in October, Texian Market Days offers families an affordable and educational weekend immersed in Texas history. The festival is a community event put on by the Fort Bend County Museum Association and held on the grounds of the 480-acre George Ranch Historical Park.

Tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for children ages five to 15. Children ages four and under are FREE! Gates open at 9 a.m. and the even is open until 5 p.m.
