Reader Tip: Christmas Train Display at Second Baptist Church Woodway

Free family fun for the holidays (Updated 2017)

By Amanda Sorena December 23, 2014
A few years ago, our family added a new tradition to our Houston Holiday List - seeing the Christmas Train Display at Second Baptist Church on Woodway.

The church fills their atrium with an amazing display of miniature snow-covered villages with model trains running through them. My kids had a fantastic time checking out each different display, looking for the Santas in each village and watching the trains make their rounds through the various scenes. There are mountains, tunnels, buildings and landscapes. It’s like a treasure hunt for guests to take in all of the details. With holiday music playing, there is no way not to be entertained and get in the spirit.

Best part, entry is free! Check the website for hours, but it is typically open starting at 10 am with plenty of parking. They are closed on Christmas Day.

The Christmas Train is on display now through December 30, 2017. For more information, visit here.

2017 hours for the remainder of the year:

Saturdays - through Dec. 30 - 10AM-2PM
Wednesday - Dec 20th - 9AM-2PM
Christmas Week - Dec 18-23 - 10AM-2PM
Plus 30 Minutes Before and After Weekend Worship Services, Christmas Under the Big Top Shows, and Christmas Eve Services
