Family Workshops at The Health Museum

The Health Museum offers family-friendly workshops designed to allow exciting hands-on learning opportunities. Workshops require parent participation and are recommended for children 8 years of age or older.

Family Science Dissection Labs: 

These dissection workshops are designed for families who want to explore anatomy UP CLOSE. Each class includes the following for ONE adult and ONE child:

An interactive presentation followed by a hands-on organ dissection. (1 hour)
General admission to the exhibit halls. (self-guided)
4D Movie: attend any one showing all day

Dissection Class Schedule:

Sheep Heart - February 8, 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
What part of the body can encircle the Earth more than two times and carries gases? Learn how your blood flows and view a real human heart during the heart dissection.

Cow Eye - March 8 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Did you know that everyone has a hole in their hands, and you actually see upside down? Learn about and study the complexities of the human eye in this family dissection at the museum.

Sheep Brain - April 12, 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Do you know the difference between the cerebrum and the cerebellum? Know another name for the medulla? You can find the answers to these questions and more at the family sheep brain dissection!

Class Fee:
3 Class Pass - Members: $40.00 / Non members: $55.00
Pick One Class - Members: $15.00 / Non members: $20.00
